Still Pregnant!!
Well I am still pregnant and I am in my 38Th week this week. We went to the doctor this morning and there hasn't been much change from last weeks visit. Still dilated to a 1 but Emery has dropped so that is good news. We go back to the doctor on Monday, Dec 28Th to check me again and see if she will induce me that week sometime. I am trying to stay optimistic but it is getting harder, I just cant imagine being pregnant for two more weeks or possibly more, I am ready for her to be here. I am ready to see her and hold her and kiss her! I am also ready to not be swollen like a balloon but I know that she is worth it and she has to come out eventually! Please pray that Emery makes her grand entrance soon:) For her mommy's sake!!!

37 Weeks and Doc Update
"Now baby weighs almost 6.5 pounds and her total length is about 21 inches long. But she hasn't stopped growing yet; she'll continue to develop about a half ounce of fat a day. Still, overall growth does slow from here on out. That's fortunate since there is very little available space left in the womb.
Here are a few final developments taking place in week 37:
Immune system. It continues to strengthen and will continue to get stronger after birth yet will not be completely functional until early adulthood.
Dexterity. Your baby can now grasp with her fingers as dexterity improves."
I went to the doctor this morning and every thing still looks good. My Strep B test came back negative so that is great news. I am 75% effaced and dilated to a 1. She was very surprised I had thinned out so much from last time. Emery still hasn't dropped yet, but that can happen at anytime including right before she comes, so there is nothing to worry about. My next appointment is Dec 21st at 10:00, hopefully we will have a lot more progress by than:) Please pray that we do!!

Nothing really happening yet!
I went to the doctor today for my weekly visits. From here on out she will be checking me to see if I am making any progress. She checked me and I am thinning out but I am not dilated yet. She said that we will talk about being induced in my 39Th week as long as I have thinned out all the way. I go back to the doctor to repeat all of this on Monday, Dec 14Th! She is measuring Emery to weight 6 lbs this week. She is growing!

36 Weeks
"Your baby now weighs around 6 pounds and is 20.7 inches long.
Your baby works hard to accumulate all the fat she can in preparation for delivery. Her body grows rounder every day, since about 15% of her total weight is now made up of fat. Once she’s born this fat layer will help her maintain her body temperature and give her a reliable energy source.
Developments this week:
Organs. Development of major organs, such as the kidneys and liver, is complete.
Lungs. Some fine-tuning, such as the final development of the lungs, still takes place inside the womb.
Head. Your baby's head is round, but by the time she makes it through the birth canal it may be temporarily misshapen as powerful contractions compress the soft bones of the skull. Her head shape will return to normal within a few days."

Doc Update
We went to the doctor on Wednesday and everything looked good. She measured Miss Emery and she is weighing in at 51/2 pounds, or at least that is what she is guessing. She told me that I am on track to have an 8 pound baby, but I am praying that she isn't going to weigh that much, but we will see. As long as she is healthy, it really doesn't matter. Casey came with me and he got his Swine Flu shot, so we are both vaccinated. I am hoping that we don't have sick visitors to the hospital when she finally gets here! I go back to the doc Tuesday, December 8Th for my 36 week visit. She is supposed to check to see if I am having any activity, so I will keep you guys (all 3 of you) posted! Haha!

35 Weeks
"Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you, now measuring about 18 inches long, and weighing about 6lbs!
If you have been noticing that you need more bathroom breaks than usual, it may be due to the fact that your baby has 'dropped'. As your due date grows near, your little one will settle deeper in your pelvis. This reduces pressure on your rib cage, allowing you more room to expand your diaphragm, but now there may be more pressure on your bladder.
By week 35, your baby's kidneys are completely developed. Her liver is also beginning to produce waste. In fact, a majority of her growth is already done. However, you should expect her to put on some more weight over the next few weeks. As space is at a premium, you may not feel as much tossing and turning inside of you, but you will definitely feel some healthy punches and kicks."
We go back to the doctor on Wednesday and she is going to do a sonogram to see how big Miss Emery is so far. I am praying that is a resonable size! I also know that I am going to take this information with a grain of salt because I have never heard a story of the doctors getting this right. We are so excited to get to see her again, we cant wait!

34 Weeks
"Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring over 17 inches long, she now weighs over 5lbs! And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, she will continue to gain about a half pound of weight every week. Unlike the first trimester, the weight between all babies in the third trimester is much more variable. Some babies weigh more and are taller, some babies weigh less and are shorter.
Also unlike the first trimester, by week 34 not much is changing. Your baby continues gaining weight through the development of subcutaneous fat and with that weight, is probably gaining strength in his movements. You may even be startled by a sudden jab to the ribs or be able to see a punch to your belly from the outside!"
Things are going well still! We cant believe how fast time has been flying by and how Emery will be before we all know it! I am still doing really well. I am starting to get uncomfortable sitting and laying down. I cant walk for too long with out my feet swelling so I have to do things in spurts, it makes for interesting shopping trips! We have so much going on these days with the Thanksgiving this week, next week we are both in my best friends wedding, than we are celebrating Christmas at Casey's Grandma's and than it will be Christmas a week after that. Emery just has to hang on until after December 5Th, which is when the wedding is or Ang will kill me, and I would be really sad if I didn't get to see her get married. So she can come anytime after 7 o'clock on the 5Th, haha!

33 Week Doc Apt
I went to the doctor on Friday for my every 2 week checkup. I had to go early this week since she was going to be out for Thanksgiving Week. It was a normal visit, but this time with out Casey since he is back at work. My apt was at 11:15 and I didn't get in until after 12:30, she had an emergency surgery and had to leave, so I just waited. While I was there I talked with the lady next to me that had her baby girl 3 weeks ago. I was looking at her baby and she looked to tiny. I asked her how much she weighed at birth and how old she was. She delivered her at 36 weeks and her baby was 7 pounds! She looked so much smaller than that though, I was shocked when she told me her weight. I also have to say that her baby was one of the cutest babies I have ever seen! It made me start thinking about what Emery is going to look like, even though I have seen her ultrasound pictures. I know she is going to be prettier in person and I cant wait to meet my baby girl, we are so excited and a little nervous at the same time.
Finally got to see Dr B. and she said everything looks great and that I am measuring a little ahead. I guess she is thinking that Emery is going to be on the big side, I don't think she will be. Dr.'s always seem to get that wrong, so I am taking it with a grain of salt. She said that when I come back on Dec 2nd that we will measure how big she is with a Sonogram and do some other tests.
I cant wait to see her again, it has been almost 9 weeks since we have seen her last!
Casey wont be able to come with me since he is working that day, but hopefully I will get to bring him home some pictures:)

33 Weeks

Baby's now the size of a honeydew! Measuring 17 inches long, she weighs about 5 lbs. And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, she will gain about a half pound of weight each week.
Things are heating up inside as well: Baby may grow up to a full inch this week alone, and her brain is developing like crazy. The bones in her skull are formed, but aren't fused. They actually don't fuse entirely until early adulthood, allowing room for their brain to grow through childhood. Because they aren't fused, the bones in her skull will be able to overlap, helping her to fit through the birth canal during delivery.

8 Months!!
Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring 16.5 inches long, she now weights over 4 pounds! And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, she will gain about a half pound every week.
She is sleeping approximately 90 to 95 percent of the day. Most of her wrinkles are disappearing, especially on her face, as more fat is deposited under her skin. Her hair is becoming thicker with each passing week and you may even be able to see it on an ultrasound! She will also begin to settle in the head-down position, as her birth is fast approaching.

Everything is still going really well, cant believe that Emery will be here soon. We cant wait. I go to the doctor tomorrow and I will update on that later. We have a busy week ahead, my grandparents are coming in to town, my 2nd baby shower, and my maternity pictures! Which I still need to go shopping for:)
Hi Hoe, Hi Hoe, it's off to work He goes!
Casey finally got to go back to work today, and we couldnt be more excited! I am sure I am a little more excited about it than he is. He was getting bored at home just watching tv, though. We will be back to our normal routine, with Casey being out of town for days at a time, that we arent ready for:( He will be working 7 on 2 off, so that doesnt leave us much time together before Emery comes. We are really grateful that everything worked out for us while he was off and that we got to spend alot of time together for the last 2 months.

My ever growing Belly!
Monday, November 2, 2009
31 Weeks
Your baby continues to grow and develop inside you. Measuring 16 inches long, she weighs 4 lbs. 4 whole pounds, wow! And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, she will gain about a half pound every week. As you've probably noticed, she is moving around quite a bit in there! Its not uncommon for her continuous movements, which may feel like somersaults, to be keeping you up at night. Her arms, legs and body are also filling out as she continues to develop fat underneath her skin, making those kicks and prods feel even stronger than last week. You may even see an arm or a foot move slowly across your belly!
Things are going well. It is getting harder to get comfortable to sleep at night but nothing to terribly bad. We are finishing up the final touches on her room and are waiting to have one last baby shower before she gets here. Things are going by way too fast!

Showers Galore!
In the month of October I have been to 3 showers! I hosted one, had my first baby shower and this bridal shower! It has been one busy month for us:)
This Halloween Casey and I celebrated at a costume Couples Bridal Shower. Say that 5 times fast, Ha! We had so much fun. My very good friend Ang and her Finace Chad had their shower on Saturday and it was so good to see everyone, dressed up especially! This was one of the funnest showers I have been too! We just enjoyed other peoples company and ate some really good food and played an awesome game. They had a pumpkin carving contest and we all got to vote! I should have taken my camera because there were some really awesome pumpkins.
The picture above is of a towel cake that Casey and I made for their shower gift. It was our first one to make, but I think it turned out awesome. Almost all of the stuff on there was from their registry. If you guys haven't heard of the Pioneer Woman, you really need to get her cookbook. I am hoping that this is the one thing I get for Christmas this year! We haven't had one recipe of hers that isn't good. The morning of the shower I stole a recipe out of her book before I had to give it away. They were Sour Cream Pancakes, to most I know that it sounds gross and even I was a little nervous but they were soooo good! Go get her cook book(and if you don't like it, give it to me for Christmas, Casey will love you)!
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
We are looking forward to next year with Emery. Dressing up, taking pictures, pumpkin carving, pumpkin patches, and trick or treating! We are going to have so much fun sweet pea! We cant wait! We love you!

Doc Update
I went to the doctor on Monday for our check up and everything is looking good. She said that everything is right where it needs to be, my weight, my blood pressure, and Emery looks great! She said that she couldnt be happier with the way things are progressing. That was great news to hear:) We than talked about Epidurals and my options for them as far as that goes and some basic facts about them. We also talked about the Swine Flu shot that I was supposed to be getting but her office only recieved 50 of them so I have to see if I can find a place on my own to get it. I am thinking that this might be impossible but we will see. I go back in two weeks, Nov 10th.
I cant believe how far along we are in this pregnancy and how soon we will get to meet you Emery. You are all we talk and think about! You are going to be a great joy in our lives and we cant wait for everything that you have in store for us. We know it will be an awesome ride!
We love you sweat pea!

Baby Shower
We had our very first Baby Shower for Emery on Saturday. Meagan and Kristi did a wonderful job putting everything together, I couldn't have asked for a better shower, Thanks you guys!
Emery sure did get a lot of stuff at her shower. We got almost all of our big stuff off our registry and we couldn't have been happier. We got our swing, car seat, jumparoo, and pack and play! Emery got some of the cutest clothes and various other necessities. She now has a ton of wash clothes, towels, socks, headbands, blankets, and hangers! We are so glad that we received all of these wonderful presents and are glad to know that so many people care for her already!
I don't have very many pictures, I actually had to beg these people to take pictures with me surprisingly. It normally is the other way around! No one really wanted their picture taken with the mommy to be:( I didnt get any with Casey's Mom or his Grandma. These are the ones I do have and am hoping to get more from Meagan. Thanks again to everyone that came! We love you all! ( I wish that I looked better in these) Now I remember why I dont take pictures!

30 Weeks
Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring 15.7 inches long, she weighs 3 lbs. She now almost fills up your entire uterine cavity and her arms and legs have grown much plumper, thanks to the continued growth of subcutaneous fat.
By 30 weeks, her eyelids open and close. She'll keep her eyes closed for most of the day though. When her eyes are open, she will be able to track light inside of your womb, though her vision isn't "perfect" or 20/20. Lunago, or fine hair that once covered her body, will start falling off this week.
In the coming weeks, the volume of amniotic fluid in your belly will decrease as your baby continues to gain weight and take up more space.
It is getting harder for me to bend down and pick things up, it is possible but pretty uncomfortable at this point. My feet are starting to hurt more and more the longer I am on them, so my shopping has been limited to a few stores at a time:(
We go to the doctor today and I will update about the doctor and our Fabulous Baby shower we had this past weekend!

29 Weeks! Only 10 more to go!
Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring 15 inches long, she weighs 2 1/2 lbs. For the first time, her head is in proportion with the rest of her body!
By 29 weeks, her brain can control her body's temperature. Her eyes can move in his sockets and her muscles and lungs continue to mature. Her bone marrow is now producing red blood cells and fat continues to develop under her skin.
We are so excited that we are getting closer to meeting our daughter. Time has gone by so fast! We cant wait to hold her and love on her! Only 10 more weeks Emery and we will get to see your sweet face and love you to pieces! (more than we already do now)

I Passed! And one more healed Arm!
On Wednesday of last week I had to go back into the doctor to do my 3 hour glucose test. Casey and I got to the doctor's office at 8 to start the long wait ahead. I finally went back and she took blood out of my left arm and than gave me a choice between orange and fruit punch to drink that had a ton of sugar in it. I chose Orange again. It really wasnt that bad until I got to the end and I just didnt think I could finish it. She then told me to go wait in the waiting room and come back in an hour at 9:45 to take my blood again. I wasnt allowed to drink or eat anything since the night before and I was so hungry! I did this same routine 3 more times until 11:45. Casey and I occupied our time in the waiting room reading magazines and I updated my journal in between reading. We were so bored and hungry, becuase like a good husband he didnt eat anything either:) I minute I got to leave the office I ate a package of peanut butter crackers that I had brought from home and they tasted soooo good! I had to leave to go to work and Casey went home before his doctor's visit.
His apt was at 2:00 to get his "cast" off and to get some exercises to do for his hand. His apt lasted all of 5 minutes. Both hands are healing really well. He continues to do his exercises to get them stronger, and it seems to be working. We cant wait for them to heal completely so he can do simple tasks around the house, like mowing the yard!
At 4 o'clock Dr. Bradford's nurse called me to tell me that I passed my test! I knew that is what she was going to say because she sounded completely different from the last time she called me to tell me she failed! I was so excited when I heard her say it. I immediately called Casey and told him and than text everyone else to let them know. I couldnt imagine going through the holidays with out sweets:) and I am so glad that know I dont have too!
Thanks to everyone who prayed for Emery and I! It worked and we can have sugar:)

Doc Appt and One Failed Test
Yesterday I had my monthly doctor's appointment for my glucose test. I had to drink an orange drink that tasted like watered down Sunkist, which wasn't that bad at all. Than we headed to the doctor to wait for an hour until she could take my blood. While we were waiting we saw the doctor and talked about having Emery at the end of December, since our Insurance is going to change starting Jan 1st. Casey's job is getting rid of United Health Care and we will have Blue Cross Blue Shield, which isn't a bad insurance to have at all but it doesn't cover some of our doctors. So Ms. Emery will be a December baby for sure! Yay! We only have 11 more weeks to go:) We left the doctors office and met Denise for brunch at IHOP, which is always fun to catch up with her! We then ran some errands the rest of the day. I got my call at around 4 that I had failed my glucose test and I have to go back on Wednesday to take a 3 hour test, which I have heard isn't any fun. I dont know if I will last that long with out eating:( Oh well, I have to do it either way and it is whats best for Emery. I am really praying that I will pass this 3 hour test, I really don't want to have gestational diabetes, but I have a feeling deep down that I will. I will have to change my diet and start exercising more. I am hoping that is isn't going to be a big baby!
28 Weeks!
At about 2 pounds 4 ounces and 13.8 inches from head to toe, your baby has certainly come a long way!
This week marks an important milestone for your baby's brain development. Until now the surface of your baby's developing brain was smooth. During this week, her brain begins to form its characteristic grooves and indentations, allowing the brain’s surface to expand while it develops within your baby's tiny skull.
Other important developmental advances:
More fat. Your baby will continue to add layers of fat under her skin and will become plumper with each passing day.
More hair. Hair on your baby's head will continue to grow.
Lungs. Her lungs are now capable of breathing air.

27 Weeks
You've reached trimester three!
Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring about 14.5 inches long, she weighs just about 2 lbs.
This week, her brain is developing quickly. Her eyelids, which have remained closed up until this point, begin to open and now his retinas can begin to form. The retina contains specialized photoreceptor cells that respond to light, called rods and cones. Cones in particular help us perceive color.
Her skin is still wrinkly but by 27 weeks, she basically looks how she will look when you give birth to her, in just a couple of months!
