26 Weeks

Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring 14 inches long, she weighs just less than 2 lbs!
Her lungs continue to develop and she is taking small breaths of amniotic fluid inside your womb. These small breaths are getting her in shape for her first breath of fresh air.
Her veins are visible through her transparent skin but soon that will change as her skin begins to turn opaque.
The nerve pathways are becoming more and more developed, making her more responsive to sound. Don't be surprised if you feel her jump inside you if she is startled by a sudden noise.

Your baby-to-be opens her eyes for the first time. She'll open and shut her eyes as she gets used to her new ability. Your little one is still on the small side. Her body may look fully formed on the outside, but inside there's fine-tuning taking place, including her lungs and her brain. Your unborn baby still has some growing to do!

27 on the 27th!

This is a horrible picture but I wanted to remember what I looked like on my 27Th Birthday at 26 weeks pregnant!
I had a wonderful birthday! We didn't do a whole lot this year, which was fine with me. On my actual birthday, I got to sleep in till 9 which is huge for me, Casey made me breakfast, I took a nap, and we hung out at my moms for the remainder of the day. She took us to dinner at Chef Point Cafe. We all had Fettuccine Alfredo and it was so Yummy! Then we went back to her house for strawberry cupcakes (my favorite) and I opened my present. My parents got me (we) a Wii! I couldn't believe it! Now I am not a video game person at all but I wanted the Wii for after Emery is born so I can do the Wii Fitness and get back in shape, but playing the games are so much fun too! Casey is really loving it! I know we are behind since they have been out for a while now but there were other things on your list to get first, but I am so glad that my parents got us one! We immediately opened it up and we had a bowling tournament, Casey won with my help so technically I won too! Haha! Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday, I really appreciate it and am very thankful for all of you!

Nursery Update

On Sunday, Emery's Grandma Denise, Poppa Will, Aunt Selina, and her cousin Ella came up to visit us. I thought this was just going to be a visit for Casey since they hadn't seen him since his surgery but I was totally surprised when they brought in Emery's crib! I was so excited and so very thankful that they would go thru all that trouble for us. Casey and Will set the crib up right away, while us girls where looking at what we had done to Emery's room so far and looking at all her clothes, bows, shoes, and bedding! My mom was there too and so as soon as I saw the bed I had her run and get the baby mattress from Babies R Us because we all wanted to see the bedding on the bed and we just couldn't wait! While we were waiting Ella helped break in Emery's room and rode the rocking horse that Emery's Lolli got her. She was so cute on it and I cant wait for Emery to get here so we can play on it too!

Once we got the mattress we put the bedding on it (thankfully we already washed it) and than hung up the mirror and talked about where some other things will go. All that is lacking are some curtains, and a glider that I have to decide if I am getting or not and a few personal touches that I am working on this week!

Up date on Casey's Surgery

Casey went to the doctor last Wednesday as well for them to look at his wrist and to take all the bandages off. He got them off and he also got a couple of exercises that he has to do everyday for ten minutes a piece. Even though he got his bandages off, the stitches and tape were still on his wrist from where they cut him and it looked gross because of the dried blood and stitches. Well on Sunday, the tape and the stitches fell off and Casey couldn't be happier! This means he can finally wash his hand and arm. He no longer needs my assistance in the shower or dressing! He still has to wear a brace if he is doing anything other than sitting on the couch, because they dont want him to hurt it. His hand is getting stronger and stronger everyday. We need this hand to heal completely before they will perform surgery on his right wrist, so that is what we are waiting on. Casey is still loves not going to work. He loves watching ESPN all day long and piddling around the house! I like that dinner is ready when I get home:) but I am ready for the roles to be reversed that is for sure! I need a break from work!

24 Week Doc Appt

I know I am behind but we went to the Doctor last Wednesday, Sept 16th.
We had a pretty normal visit. She checked my weight, blood pressure, and we heard Emery's heartbeat. She hates it when she puts that doppler up to my belly because she can only get the heartbeat for a second until she moves and runs away from it! The nurse always laughs when she does that.
Dr. Bradford came in to see us and she measured my tummy and than asked if I have been feeling her kick and than she asked Casey if he has been able to feel her. We than discussed Flu shots for the both of us. Than we started talking about where I wanted to deliver Emery, which I didnt think we would be talking about so soon. I realized though that if I went into early labor she would want to know these things. Well I really like my Dr. but something about this visit she just rubbed me the wrong way. She asked me where I wanted to be delivered and I told her and than she wanted to know why I picked that hospital. I told her my reasons and than she quickly wanted to tell me what her opinion about it was. Which is fine because I am open to hearing things that I dont know from a doctors perspective but why give me an option if you really want me to deliver at another hospital. Anyways, I left more frustrated than when I came. I still have to pick a hospital by Oct 12th, which is our next appt. I will be doing my glucose testing that same day as well. I am really hoping I will pass this test! I am not looking forward to drinking that nasty drink either.
Over all Emery is doing great and she is moving more and more each day, even though it isnt on a schedule yet, and that may not come since I was a lazy baby too!
I have mixed reactions from people when they see me with my belly. I hear a lot that I am not very big, even thought the scale beggs to differ with you people, and than I hear from other people that I have gotten really big. Those comments dont make me feel so good but I try to take it with a grain of salt. Payback will be when they get pregnant:) Haha!

25 Weeks

Your baby-to-be's lungs are developing rapidly, although she'd probably need a little help breathing if she were born at this point. Her respiratory system continues to develop, her nostrils are open, and she can breathe—but she won't take her first breath of air until delivery day. Her reproductive organs are formed (in boys, the testes have descended). Her skin is translucent and wrinkled, and he can hear your stomach when it gurgles and your voice when you sing. Your baby is becoming more aware of how she can move—she's wiggling her fingers and toes!

Your baby has grown to about one pound, eight ounces and she's nearly nine inches long (crown to rump).

24 Weeks

Energizer baby. Jumping and diving, rolling and kicking—your little one is having a great time training for the Baby Olympics. Just as you settle in for a good night's sleep, he starts his workout. Does it seem as if he's moving more than ever? He is: Babies are most active between 24 and 28 weeks. After that, there won't be enough room for him to perform the acrobatics he's so adept at now. Thin skinned. If your baby could look down at his chest, he'd get his first anatomy lesson. Because his skin is still thin and transparent, it's possible to see the blood vessels, bones, and organs beneath it. His skin will continue to thicken as the months pass, until it's opaque like yours. Eye spy. Even though your baby's eyes are still fused shut, all the parts of his eyes are present, including the retina, which completes its development over the next month. The iris, the colored part of the eye, still doesn't have any pigmentation. Your little one's eye color will fill in over the next few months, though their final shade won't be settled until after he's born. Measuring up. Your little gymnast weighs up to 1.3 pounds this week and measures 10 to 11 inches. Got Milk? Vernix is the white cheesy material that protects the baby's skin from the amniotic fluid. In this picture, it appears on the upper lip and nose and across the eyebrows and face.

Update: I am still feeling really well, I seem to get tired easily though. I wish I could take a nap everyday but unfortunately at my work they frown up on that:(
I am defiantly getting bigger and my hands are always swollen. I just thought when I got pregnant that my hands wouldn't change sizes but I was wrong on this one! My ring size is now a 9 as opposed to a 71/2 before. We are still working on her room. And this week I am going to try and organize underneath her bathroom sink and our closets. Both are long overdue!
We are planning on going to a breastfeeding class tomorrow night, I am hoping I learn a lot from it, especially since the idea of breastfeeding terrifies me, but it is something I really want to do for Emery! We only have 112 days till we meet you sweet pea and we couldn't be more excited! We keep talking about who you will be more like and who you will look like and if you are going to have hair or not! I feel you kick more and more each day and I love it!

A few of my favorite things!

The cutest Bib ever!

I ordered this bib off of Ebay for 10.00 and I just love it! I cant wait till Emery gets to use it! She will be eating in style! We got her friend Laiken one too, but I will let her mommy post hers!

The start to Emery's room!

My mom and stepdad painted Emery's room for me a couple of weekends ago, and I loved how it turned out. The picture below doesnt do it justice, since it looks a little on the purple/pink side. But it is definately pink. The color is called powdered blush and mathes her comforter set perfectly! I dont really have a theme, which is shocking for a lot of people to hear, except that it is pink and black. Casey's nana game us the lamp and we painted it black and my mom and I found the cute pink lamp shade on sale at target. I added the black bow and ribbon. I thought it turned out really cute. The mirror used to be red and hung in our apartment over our mantle for those of you that remember, we didnt have a good place for it at the new house so I decided to put it in Emery's room. We spray painted it black and I added the sparkly gems and the pink bow, I am glad it turned out cute too. I think I will be adding a bigger bow. The bigger the better right?!? The crib is coming soon and I will be posting pictures of that with her bedding! Stay tuned!

Gifts from Maddi

My friend Lyndi was nice enough to pass along her daughter Maddison's "old"
clothes! I use "old in quotations because half of her clothes were only worn
once or still had the tags on them! We are very grateful for her generosity.
Needless to say we have a good clothes collection going! I actually got the cute hat below from Canton before I knew I was having a girl! It was just to cute to pass up on!

23 weeks and 1 whole pound!

Twenty-three weeks marks an important point for your unborn baby. Your baby-to-be is far enough along in his development that he could have a chance at survival outside the womb.
According to the March of Dimes, of all babies born at 23 weeks, 25 to 35 percent survive. This number goes up considerably when you add just a couple weeks: babies born between 50 to 70 percent of all babies born at 24 to 25 weeks survive. And 90 percent of all babies born at 26 to 27 weeks survive.
Although all of your baby-to-be's internal systems are in place, he needs more time for those intricate systems to mature.

Your little one now about eight inches long (crown to rump) and weighs in at around one pound.

I am still feeling really well! This weekend I discovered that I can no longer wear my wedding ring. I am offically sad about this. I always thought that I would be one of those pregnant ladies that could wear it to the end. Although I havent gained that much weight for being 6 months pregnant I guess it has all gone to my hands becuase I have gone up two whole ring sizes! It is getting really scary! So we are on the hunt for a new band to wear for a couple of months until Emery gets here.

Horay for September!!

I am so glad that August is behind us, September is one of my favorite months. It is also the begining of fall! I have 7 reasons why I love September (this september especially)

1. I cant not wait for a little cooler weather and to start to see the leaves change on the trees, I wish I lived in a state where this happened sooner than November but for most people they get to see this in September, and for that I am jealous!

2.

Pumpkins! I love them, I cant wait till I get to go with Lyndi and Maddi to get her picture taken in the pumpkin patch like we do every year. I especially cant wait to do this tradition with my sweet girl next year! I love to decorate around the house with them and to start baking with this sweet stuff!

3.

It doesnt feel like September with out my favorite team, The Colts! I cant wait to sit and watch football on Sundays with Casey!

4.

I will be palnning one of my best Friends lingerie showers and I couldnt be more excited. We have already gathered the plates and a few decorations that will fit her wedding so well. We will be playing a few games and opening tons of lingerie! What could be more fun?!?
I cant wait to see them walk down the aisle in December.

5.

Birthdays! We have a lot of family and friends that celebrate their birhtdays in September including yours truely! I was hoping that sweet Emery would be born in September so she could celebrate this very special month with her aunt and I but that is ok, she will get to share her birthday month with her very specail Aunt and Uncle!

6.

Casey is having Wrist surgery on the 10th of September, although this isnt very exciting news to some it is to us. Casey will finally be able to have a peaceful nights sleep and he will get to play the guitar again. Oh and he will be able to hold our sweet baby in December with out his hands going numb and being in pain! So we are very excited about this surgery. It will be really hard on us to since he will be out of work for 6 weeks, but we always manage to get through it together!

7. Last but not least, I will be entering in to my third trimester of my pregnancy on my birthday. I couldnt have asked for a better birthday present! I cant believe this journey is getting closer to the end and I am so very thankful that I have made it this far!
