Your baby's brain is growing daily. Her senses are also starting develop. She can hear the sound of your heart along with your breathing. As she wiggles her fingers, she may touch her face or even suck her thumb. Her lungs are becoming more mature, and she even goes through the motions of breathing. She can also swallow, although she won't have her first real meal until delivery day. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop. Going Bananas!

Baby's now the size of a banana!Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion, and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, if baby is a girl, her womb is now stocked up with her lifetime supply of six million eggs (the number will drop to around one million by birth).
We got Emery's baby bedding in on Friday and we also got her changing table. We haven't put together the changing table yet because we are waiting until we paint to do that! I am hoping that this will all happen really soon, but Casey has been working non stop. They got told on Saturday that they might be going to North Dakota for a month and a half. We are praying that this doesn't happen so he doesn't miss out on all the pregnancy fun.
On Wednesday Casey will be putting up the ceiling fan in Emery's room and than hopefully we can start to paint.
This past weekend I went to babysit Miss Maddi and I got to go thru all of her "old" baby clothes some of which she didn't even wear. Needless to say that Emery doesn't need any clothes! I got a whole tub full of clothes plus a trash bag full. I need to go get hangers and start organizing them.

20 weeks

Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you'd like your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

Ms. Emery Kate
We found out on monday that we are having a Girl! We are so very excited and cant wait to start on her room. Our sonogram was so neat since all the moms were there. We got to see all of her, her head, her kidneys, her bladder, and we even got to see her yawn and smile! It was amazing!
We have decided on her name: Emery Kate Davis!
I cant believe that we are half way through this pregnancy and will get to meet our sweet Emery in just 20 short weeks. We have come a long way baby girl! Mommy and Daddy love you!

Caylee is HERE!
Weekend Wrap Up!
This past weekend Casey finally was off and we really enjoyed spending time together. On Saturday morning we went to get well deserved massages! Needless to say I will be going back for more, especially now that I am further along in my pregnancy!
After the massages we came home and at lunch with my mom and Katie. We had one of our favorites, pulled pork sandwiches. So good and so easy to make.
We ran some last minute errands before we headed to Hillsboro for our nephew's 1st Birthday Party. I was so glad that Casey wasnt going to miss his party
It was at the country club by the pool, with a baseball theme. It was so cute and we had tons of fun catching up with family and seeing the birthday boy smash into his cake! He is so cute!
Before the cake
The cakes
The Devoured Cake! He absolutely loved his cake and didnt hesitate one bit to dig right it! It was so cute!
Happy Birthday Major! We love you!
On Sunday, we went camera shopping. I really want a SLR camera so we started looking. Than we headed over to my mom's for dinner at Fuzzy's! We love fuzzy's queso and tacos! Yummy!
After dinner we went Laptop shopping. I am proud to say we finally made a decision and I am typing on our new laptop as we speak.
I have decided that I want to convert part of my laundry room/pantry into a little bittly office too, but that is another post for a later day.

19 Weeks

Your unborn baby's organs continue to grow. His body is covered with lanugo—soft hairs and a sticky protective coating that keeps his skin from drying out in the amniotic fluid. Your baby is moving frequently, and by now you should be able to feel those movements. Your physician can hear your baby-to-be's heartbeat with a stethoscope placed on your abdomen.
Baby is covered in vernix, a white, cheesy "cream" that protects her skin from the long bath in amniotic fluid. Preemies are covered in vernix at birth—"posties" have almost none.

Casey and I have a great weekend together and I will update later tonight hopefully!

Sweet Potato

Vernix (a white cheese like protective material) forms on baby's skin with the lanugo, a soft lightly pigmented hair covering the body and limbs, both help to protect your baby's skin during the months in water. Your baby may hear your heart beating, your stomach rumbling or blood moving through the umbilical cord. He or she may even be startled by loud noises.Tiny air sacs called alveoli begin to form in lungs and the vocal chords are formed. Baby goes through the motions of crying but without air doesn't make a sound; yet. Your baby may have the same awake and sleep patterns of a newborn. Baby will have a favorite position for sleep and recognizable active and rest periods.Your baby measures about 6 inches (15cm) crown to rump and weighs about 7 ounces (200gm).
WE are still doing great! Still counting down the days! (14)
Casey has been working alot and I have been spending a lot of time on my own:(
He is trying to look for a new job but we havent had much success yet, we are praying that he will be able to be home more once the baby comes.
We have a lot going on this week. It seems that everyone we know is having a birthday in August. So we are gearing up for all kinds of parties and presents. We are looking forward to our nephews 1st birthday party on Saturday and I am glad that Casey will be to make it.
On this very same day it is Casey's brother Pete's birhtday, and my two best friends birthdays, Ang and Lyndi! I have a lot of shopping to do this week:)
Saturday morning we are going to get massages, so we are definately excited about that!
