9 weeks

Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Your baby is busy growing. Her face looks more baby-like each day—her eyes are developed but concealed, and her nose, lips, and ears are becoming more defined. She's also starting to exercise her expanding muscles. Her fingers and toes are looking less like stubs. Although she's a wiggler—and you could see that on an ultrasound—she's still so small that you won't feel these movements. Her reproductive organs are developing, but even if you sneaked a peek you wouldn't be able to tell that she's a she (and neither could your doctor at this point). Your growing baby is about as big as a green olive this week.

Our Little Raspberry

Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy. Your baby is no longer a mass of cells, but he's looking more and more like a miniature baby-to-be. Your baby's face is becoming more defined: eyelids have formed, his nose is beginning to protrude, and his upper lip is taking shape. His heart is beating quickly and strong inside his tiny body. Your baby is about the size of a raspberry or a dime.

I have been feeling really tired still and nauseous. I can be eating something I really wanted one minute and the next I want it out of my sight for fear of throwing it up! Casey finds it very amusing and annoying at the same time since he thinks that he has to eat all of my food too!
I haven't gained any weight yet and am very excited about that!

Well since it was a holiday weekend Casey and I went to a few baby stores to just look around and get an idea of some things we wanted and the cost! If we have a girl of course I already have the bedding and everything picked out, so while we were out I started to look at boy stuff to get an idea of what was out there and what we agreed on. We found a few comforter sets that we both thought were cute. We are really praying for a girl!!!!!!!
We are going for our 8 week sonogram appt today at 4:00. We are hoping to hear the heart beat today since we didn't get to hear it at our last appt! We are really excited! I will post pictures tonight if Casey is home, since I have no idea what I am doing!

Till next time,
Amber and Casey

Loving Blueberries!

This week your baby has an amazing growth spurt. At the beginning of this week, your baby is approximately 4 to 5 mm and by the end of the week it has more than doubled to 11 to 13 mm! Your baby weights approximately 0.03 ounces. Most women are ready for the world to know they are pregnant. Your baby's leg and arm buds are longer now and they have divided into segments where the hands and feet will be. The hands and feet also have an area where the fingers and toes will begin to form. At this point of your pregnancy, the heart is bulging from the body and it has divided into right and left chambers. The brain's hemispheres are continuing to grow and the air passages into the lungs are visible. Your baby's eyes are beginning to get pigment. The nose is developing and the beginning of the face can be seen. Your baby is the size of a blueberry or a small pencil earser.

We went to the doctor last Tuesday to see this little star and everything is going great. Measured in at 5mm and we got to see the heartbeat. We couldnt hear it yet and go back on the 27th for our 8 week ultrasound to see and hear the heartbeat! We are so excited.

I am feeling really tired and neasous all the time. I have gone nights with no sleep and throwing up, but I know it is all worth it! I am just hoping that it all goes away at 13 weeks, eventhough that is a long time from now! I am also having really bad gas pains! It is so weird the things your body does when you are pregnant! We have ultrasound pictures and belly pictures to post soon, I am behind already!

I have overwhelming feelings lately of having a miscarriage and am so terrified of that happening! But I know that God has a plan for us either way, I am just praying for now!

Happy Monday!
