17 Weeks

How big is the Baby at 17 Weeks Pregnant?Your baby is anywhere from 4.4 to 4.8 inches by pregnancy week 17 and weighs almost 3 ½ ounces! If you were to hold your baby at 17 weeks pregnant, she would fit snugly in the palm of your hand. Your baby is about the size of an onion.Your Baby's Growth and Development Your baby during week 17 is now very mobile, gleefully moving his joints here, there and everywhere and will continue to do so as you continue your pregnancy week by week. The cartilage making up the skeleton in your baby's body is starting to transform into bone. At pregnancy 17 weeks time your baby should be hearing things. Your baby will start putting on some layers of fat in the weeks to come, though at this point in time your baby is made up of primarily water. You may be feeling your baby move intermittently after pregnancy week 17, though as your pregnancy progresses you will likely start feeling your baby move more and more. There are many natural health practitioners that believe in the power of touch. Though your little one is still very small, your touch may do much to help him feel safe and warm inside the womb. If you haven't started already, you might consider rubbing your 'pooch' in calming circular motions. This will not only help comfort your little one, but will help initiate the bonding process with you and your newborn baby throughout your pregnancy and after.Other women find comfort when playing music to their unborn children. There is evidence suggesting that your baby responds to music even while in the womb. Thus, there is no harm in playing some calm and engaging music to your baby even while they are in the womb.

I am feeling pretty good these days. Nothing really new to update. I am waiting on the doctor's office to call us back about our test that we took last Tuesday. Other than that we are just waiting till the 17Th to find out what we are having.
I am actually shocked that Casey hasn't put earphones on my belly yet to play music to the baby, I think he forgot already.
Since my Mom thinks that we are having a girl, she got the baby the cutest little doll when she was at the hospital for work. I need to take a picture of it. If we don't have a girl we have plenty of other friends that we can give it to so that isn't an issue.
We have 20 more days till we find out what we are having! Yay!
Casey and I are going to be really busy this up coming 2 moths. It seems like everyone we know has birthdays in August and September so we will be gearing up for birthday season! And I have a few baby showers to attend and I am throwing a lingerie shower for Ang! I am so excited about that!
Oh and I am so ready for the Fall! I know I have a ways to go but it is my absolute favorite season!

Doctor Update

Yesterday, Casey and I both got to go to my doctor appt. Our wait this time wasnt very long at all and I was really impressed.

This was Casey's first time to go with me and to meet all the lady's that I talk to every visit.

The nurse came in and did all her normal stuff, weight, blood pressure, etc. Then she got to the good part, hearing our baby's heartbeat. She found the heartbeat for a few seconds and then our baby moved I guess the baby didnt like it so she had to go searching again and it was good and strong. I didnt feel the baby move, but I am waiting for this to happen any day now.

The nurse turned around to find Casey crying, he cries everytime he has heard the heartbeat. For him that is what makes it all real! He is so cute! She gave him so kleenexes and said that she loved him for being Emotional and cant wait to see him next time since we will be finding out what we are going to have. Yay!!

So than Dr. Bradford came in and we had a few discussions and her and Casey hit it off and he really likes her, as do I. So that made me feel better. After talking to her we went and got my blood drawn, than out the door we went. It was a good appt and I am really glad that Casey got to come. He deserves to for as much as he works!!

I had gained 2 pounds since my last appt 2 weeks ago, so I am at a total of 3 pounds so far.

Our next appt is August 17th at 1:40 to find out what baby Davis is! We are counting down the days (26 to go)!!!

Casey and I are headed to the Rangers game tonight vs. the Red Soxs and he is super excited. I am just ready for some Nachos!

16 Weeks

By week 16, your baby-to-be's body is doing more to support itself. Her kidneys function and produce urine that then passes through the umbilical cord. Within her stomach, bile is secreted, although she relies on you for all of her nutrients. Her appearance changes as her scalp hair grows and may even have color. Her developing facial muscles make it possible for her to open and close her mouth, maybe even give you a smile or two.
This week, your little one is around four inches long (crown to rump) and weighs in at nearly three ounces, about the size of an avocado.
I am going to the doctor today for my appointment to check my weight and to run some tests. This will be our last appt not knowing what are baby is (hopefully)!!
Casey got off work early today since they couldn't pump on the well site so he will get to come with me to my appt. This will be is first appt with our new doctor and only his second appt overall!
I am hoping to talk to her about some cramping that I am having on my right side and a few other things, so I am ready to go, but I am sure my appt wont be on time and it will be a long wait to see her.
I will update you guys tomorrow.

Wow Charlie!!!

For the past several nights a very unwelcome friend has awoken me from my sleep and he better go away soon!
His name, Charlie Horse! I have been getting them really bad the last couple of nights and man do they hurt. I know that they are common in the second and third trimester of pregnancy, so I guess I will just have to deal with it in the mean time. When I wake up I strech out my leg and go back to sleep and than not to long after he comes right back! Maybe I will eat a few bannana's and see if that helps!

15 weeks

At week 15, your baby-to-be stretches her limbs and bends at her elbows. She's getting big enough that you can feel many of these movements.
This week your baby is roughly the size of a small apple or orange. Her bones are continuing to grow and lengthen. While she looks more like a baby, her skin is still thin and translucent with her veins visible.
Your baby is also beginning to grow
lanugo, a very fine hair. It will keep growing until around the 26Th gestational week of pregnancy (that's week 28 of your pregnancy).

I cant believe how big our baby is getting! We are so excited to meet you sweet pea!

I have been feeling good, still tired but I am not expecting that to go away for the next 18 years! Ha ha! I am starting to show a little. My belly isn't very big but we are on our way! I am finally getting an appetite, I think?!?

On Saturday I went with my Mom and Lyndi and Maddi to the Parker County Peach Festival! We used to go all the time when my sister and I were younger. We took Maddi to get her face painted and she was so cute! She wanted a kitty cat just like hers at home, Lucy! After that we walked around and saw all the vendor crafts. It was only 10:15 and we all decided that we were hungry so we had the best corny dogs and funnel cake! It was our mid morning snack! We left not to long after and we were all beat from the sun. No one bought anything but they had some really cute things if I knew what I was having I would have bought, but we have to wait a little while longer.

My mom and I met my sister and another friend at the nail salon to get our toes done and then we went out to eat for lunch. We had Chinese food and it was sooo good! Yummy! After lunch we headed to Kid to Kid. I got some good deals I think. I got some maternity pants for 10.00 and a boppy pillow for 11.00 and 2 highchairs and a car seat and stroller for 185.00! One highchair is going to my mom's along with the car seat and stroller. We headed home to take a nap for about 2 hours.

Casey was home from work by time we made it home and after our nap we headed to Men's warehouse to get his tux for the wedding that we are in, in Aug. Then we headed to Hillsboro to eat at El Con because Casey said it had been way to long since he had eaten there. We ate and talked with Denise for about 2 hours and then me met up with Corey, Meagan, and Major and talked some more! We had a great night despite not getting back till 1 am, it was waaay past by bed time! Sunday we ran errands, Loews, walmart, etc. Then we went to church at 6 and came home and cleaned up the garage since we got shelves. It looks so much better! I wish I was better about taking my camera with me to take pictures or just to remember to take pictures, but I cant seem to remember to save my life. I better get on it, I don't have much longer to work on this!

Doc Appt

Yesterday I had my 14 week doctor appointment. I was told a long time ago that before I leave work for my appt that I should call and see if the Doc is running behind that way I could stay at work longer since I get paid hourly. So that is exactly what I did yesterday before I left for my appt. I was in complete shock when the lady told me that my Doc wasn't in today and her PA would be seeing me and that she was right on time! I don't know about you guys but I have never meet a doctor that has been on time, never! So I left anyways and arrived 5 minutes early. Well, lets just say that my on time and their on time are totally different. I didn't get taken back to see her until an hour after my appt and I didn't get to talk to her until 4:45 and my appt was supposed to be at 3:30! I know I have to wait my turn, but it made me a little mad since I could have been at working getting paid instead of in a waiting room!
I talked to the PA and I had some questions that I wanted to ask regarding how I was feeling and so forth. She was really nice and answered all my questions and we talked a little about my next appt and some tests that will be ran. They were a little concerned that I have only gained 1 pound since I have been pregnant and she drilled me about what I eat etc. Casey on the other hand has gained 14 pounds since I have been pregnant! Poor guy, he feels like he has to finish all of my food too! He doesn't want it to go to waste! I have consulted my "all things baby" friend Leah and she has assured me that all is well with the lack of weight gain. She eased my mind on this issue. So I will go back in two weeks and than we only have another 4 weeks till we find out the baby's gender! Which I am thinking will be on Aug 18Th, which is also my MIL's birthday! So we are excited about that!

July 4th

I hope everyone had a great 4Th of July! It is one of my favorite holidays! I love the cookouts and the fireworks and summer especially!
Casey started out the day by mowing the lawn and weed eating while I was in the kitchen all day cooking for the party that we went to. I made potato salad ( not your normal potato salad though) and beans. I have the best bean recipe! It has pork and beans, hamburger, jalapenos, onions and BBQ sauce, it was so good, I could have eaten them all! Then we got the best watermelon, the first one we have bought that wasn't bad this summer!
So when I was making the beans and I was cutting the jalapenos, I washed my hands thinking that was enough to get the burning off my hands, well I was wrong because I went to rub my eye, and it was on fire! My hands were pretty much on fire for the rest of the night and into Sunday, these must have been some serious peppers, or I am a baby!
We headed over to my friend's house and enjoyed all the food and met new people. We watched the kids play in the sand box and on the swings. Then it was finally dark. The moment I had waited all day for! Fireworks! Since we were outside the city limits, it meant that we were able to shoot them off ourselves! All the guys had a blast and the women and kids just watched.
We had a really great 4Th! I cant wait for next year, when we will be able to share it with our little one!

14 weeks

At 14 weeks your baby is a regular wiggler, but because of her small size you probably won't feel it yet. Your baby-to-be's face is becoming more distinguishable as her eyes move closer together and her ears move closer to their final positions. She's also growing soft baby hair all over her body, which is thought to help anchor developing skin, as well as forming hair on her eyebrows and scalp. She may hiccup too, even though her lungs are filled with fluid, not air. Your little one is currently between 3.2 to 4.5 inches (from crown to rump) and weighs in at around .9 ounces or about the size of a lemon.

I am still doing well. The weeks just seem to be flying by! I go to the doctor tomorrow and am excited about that. I seem to be more tired now than I was at the begining. I took two really long naps this weekend and I am not really a nap taker. I have been cooking alot, which Casey really appreciates since I havent cooked since I got pregnant! And no, we didnt eat out all the time, Casey just had to cook.
Until tomorrow.....
